Comet 103P/Hartley, shown here, is a small peanut-shaped comet that is currently located in Auriga. It had its closest approach to the Earth (57.3 million km) on 26 September at 2:44 a.m. The comet has an orbital period of about 6.5 years so it is a frequent visitor to the inner solar system!
