As you point out in the article: “The October 31 date for Halloween has been fixed by tradition. The true cross-quarter day falls on November 7, representing a discrepancy of about a week. According to the ancient Celts, a cross-quarter day marks the beginning – not the middle – of a season.”

It is important to understand that the true timing is the timing that has the actual astronomical/spiritual energy, not the calendar date of the fixed holiday. The article should focus on the actual timing in order to be accurate and helpful. Social holidays are, of themselves, devoid of energy, and are fixed as they are to distract our attention from the real astronomical/astrological moments when true power exists; that is, when we are actually aligned with the natural cycle between the Sun, Moon, and Earth, and other planets. Dates were set, fixed, on purpose to skew our natural alignment and confuse and disempower us. This is historical.

So, when you say: “Halloween – short for All Hallows’ Eve – is an astronomical holiday”, you are not correct. Astronomically, the current cross-quarter will take place between the 6th and the 7th this year, depending where in the world you are. Check this website for accurate timing of these events, as they change all the time, as does the date on which the Sun changes signs (which could be as early as the 18th and as late as the 23rd of the month) and also the solstices and equinoxes:

Thanks, though, for mentioning this so attention can be drawn to it.

I posted it on FB as a good teaching tool for people who want to know the details on how our Pagan holy days are determined and how they have changed slightly through history as the calendars have been adapted. The graphic is very handy. An excellent article!
