form my research they seem to have different etymologies, as the Arabic Al-Risha refers to a rope, whereas the word rishi comes from a root with a different meaning. this is consistent with the fact that, as far as modern linguistics can tell, Semitic languages (such as Arabic) are unrelated to Indo-European ones (like Sanskrit, Hindi, etc.), in the sense of a genetic relationship.
